Breweries & Taprooms

Craft Beer in Alexandria

Alexandria’s craft beer scene is small but legit. What started with one brewery has grown into a handful of spots where you can drink something that was brewed within a few miles of where you’re sitting.

Copper Trail Brewing

Copper Trail was one of the first craft breweries in the Alexandria area and helped kick off the local scene. They rotate seasonal taps alongside their core lineup. The taproom is a solid hangout — casual, friendly, and you can usually talk to whoever brewed what you’re drinking.

22 Northmen Brewing Company

Named after the 22 men referenced on the Kensington Runestone, 22 Northmen leans into the local Viking lore with their branding. The beer stands on its own though — they do a good mix of approachable styles and more adventurous brews. The taproom space is well done.

What to Expect

These aren’t big-city brewery experiences with 40 taps and a kitchen staff of 20. They’re small-town taprooms — which means you’ll probably run into someone you know, the staff remembers what you ordered last time, and the vibe is relaxed. Most have food trucks or allow outside food. Hours can vary seasonally, so check before you drive out.
