Casey’s Amusement Park
Summer Staple
Casey’s Amusement Park is one of those places that every kid in Alexandria knows and every parent has spent more money at than they planned. It’s a classic small-town amusement park — go-karts, mini golf, bumper boats, batting cages, and an arcade — and it’s been a summer fixture for years.
What’s There
Go-karts are the main draw for older kids and teenagers. The mini golf course is solid — more fun than it needs to be, which is the sign of a good one. Bumper boats get everybody wet, which is the point. Batting cages let kids (and adults) take some swings. The arcade has a mix of classic and newer games with a ticket redemption system.
Age Range
There’s something for most ages, though the sweet spot is probably 5 to 14. Younger kids can do mini golf and some of the tamer attractions. Older kids and teenagers gravitate toward the go-karts and arcade. Parents mostly stand around, hold things, and hand over money — the universal amusement park parent experience.
Practical Info
Casey’s is a seasonal operation — open from roughly Memorial Day through Labor Day. Activities are individually priced or available in combo deals. It’s on the north side of town and easy to find. Expect it to be busy on summer evenings and weekends, especially when the weather is good. There’s no real food service to speak of, so eat before or after.
