Event Calendar

What’s Happening

Alexandria keeps a busier calendar than most towns its size. Between community events, festivals, live music, markets, and seasonal activities, there’s something going on most weekends from May through December — and a fair amount through the winter too.

Spring

The season starts slowly as the ice comes off the lakes. Fishing opener in May is basically a holiday. The farmers market kicks off, community garage sales pop up, and outdoor dining patios reopen. By late May, the summer calendar is in full swing.

Summer

This is peak season. Art in the Park, Crazy Days, the Douglas County Fair, live music series, Grape Stomp, PaddleFest, and dozens of smaller events fill the weeks between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Weekends get booked — check dates early if you’re planning around a specific event.

Fall

The pace slows but doesn’t stop. Fall color drives, harvest festivals, Halloween events, and the transition into holiday season keep things moving. Carlos Creek’s Grape Stomp in September is one of the biggest single events of the year.

Winter

Holiday events in November and December — tree lighting, Christmas walks, shopping events. January and February are quieter but not dead. Ice fishing tournaments, winter sports at Andes Tower Hills, and community events at indoor venues keep people connected through the cold months.
